JPL and the Byrnes Health Education Center earned a Gold Horizon Interactive award in the Education/Mobile Apps category for its iPad app called Healthy4Me.
Healthy4Me helps students ages K-3 make good decisions, build self-esteem, respect others and prevent bullying. Kids go under the sea to help some engaging underwater creatures stay healthy by making good decisions. A fun matching game helps reinforce healthy choices and build self-esteem. The activities can be facilitated by a teacher in the classroom or used by the kids independently. The program is one of eleven eLearning kits available on LearntobeHealthy.org.
For ten years, JPL has partnered with the Byrnes Center and created hours of interactive health-related learning programs for LearntobeHealthy.org. The Byrnes Health Education Center plans to work with JPL to create more tablet accessible learning activities in the future.
