Sandy Hook Promise Say Something Honored with EdTech Award Cool Tool Award

Say Something, a blended learning series developed for Sandy Hook Promise by d’Vinci Interactive, has been named a Cool Tool finalist by the EdTech Awards.

The Say Something: Elementary Animated Series is a flexible, blended learning program for grades K-5 that teaches students Sandy Hook Promise’s Say Something program framework using a slideshow, interactive storybook, videos, lessons, and activities. The Say Something program empowers students to be Upstanders and say something to a Trusted Adult when they recognize warning signs and threats. It also offers ways students can grow into a community of Upstanders.

Say Something also provides a comprehensive guide for educators with best practices for classroom implementation and facilitating the lesson. The guide includes twelve different lesson plans with accompanying handouts and vocabulary cards.

d'Vinci also created the Say Something online educational experience for older students in grades 5-12. Through educational videos, students learn how they can protect themselves, their classmates and their community from shootings, violence, suicide and other harmful acts simply by “saying something” to a trusted adult or calling 911. Students learn to look for warning signs and threats, especially in social media.
